Proverbs 15:6–12
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure:
But in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge:
But the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord:
But the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord:
But he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way:
And he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord:
How much more then the hearts of the children of men?
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him:
Neither will he go unto the wise.
Agree with me or I’ll attack
I don’t need to grow
New thoughts just hold me back
there’s nothing I don’t know
Seek out wisdom, Scriptures warn
Welcome some correction.
Or turn away in scorn,
And just find confirmation
Agree with me or I will flee
That seems be the trend.
A risky philosophy
You’ll see it in the end
Maybe my wording is a bit childish but they were still my thoughts as I read today’s portion from Proverbs. The business that is willing to listen to customer complaints and address them can grow, so, why don’t we believe that could be true in our personal lives? Would it not be wise to seek out opposing viewpoints and counsel even if you chose to ignore it? Spotting error is easy when it is contrary to God’s Word but sometimes when it is less clear we need advisors we trust to be Spirit filled and have the mind of Christ. If the most spiritual people in your life have a different view than you, odds are, you are wrong.
Many times I have robbed myself of wisdom with self assured pride. I know that in the future this must change.
So I need to add one verse
So, help me be wise
Please improve me
Open my blind eyes
Disagree and help me see.
