Psalm 71:15–24 15My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness And thy salvation all the day; For I know not the numbers thereof. 16I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. 17O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: And hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. 18Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; Until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, And thy power to every one that is to come. 19Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, Who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! 20Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, Shalt quicken me again, And shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. 21Thou shalt increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side. 22I will also praise thee with the psaltery, Even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing With the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. 23My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; And my soul, which thou hast redeemed. 24My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: For they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
I am tired!
Mondays are especially tough on a preacher, but then again, I hear nobody likes them.
I woke up this morning very reluctantly, fought myself out of bed and asked the dude in the bathroom mirror a question, “How in the world am I going to make it today?”
Seriously, I am bi-vocational so after a full day of gospel promotion yesterday, I need to go push electrical products today, how will I do it?
“Maybe a good shower will wake me up”, but nope!
I think I fell asleep standing up. Thank the Lord my hot water heater doesn’t have more capacity or I would have stayed in there all day.
I made myself a cup of coffee, actually I made a pot of coffee to try to get myself going.
I am ¾ through the pot and still not feeling energized for today’s tasks.
“How will I pull this off?” I continue to wonder. If the shower didn’t wake me and the coffee didn’t get me going, what am I going to do?
Next, my daily Scripture readings, but how will I focus when my mind is in such a haze?
How will I make it today?
Look at what the second verse I read said,
Psalm 71:16 I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
How will I make it? How will I go?
I will go in the strength of another, one more powerful than myself. I will go by God’s help because when it comes to strength, he has unlimited supply!
How will you make it through another Monday? Go in the strength of the Lord God!
How will you face the struggle ahead? Go in the strength of the All Sufficient One!
How will you be able to face that person that wronged you? The One that cried out , “Father forgive them…”concerning the ones that crucified him can help.
How will you bear that burden? Give that thing to God and he will give you rest.
The psalmist recognized that the Sovereign God of the universe who had shown him troubles in the past had pulled him through before and would revive him again.
Psalm 71:20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, Shalt quicken me again, And shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
We will go by the strength of our God until we die and even then he will raise us up from our graves by his power.
Happy Monday morning ya’ll!
Go in the strength of the Lord your God!
